Do I need a referral from my physician to access services?

Accepted Answer

No. A physician referral is not required to begin services. You are welcome to reach out directly to inquire about therapy or schedule an appointment.  Once your request is received, I will reach out to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to better understand your needs and determine whether my services are a good fit. Are sessions offered in person or virtually?

At this time, all services are offered virtually. Virtual therapy allows for greater flexibility and accessibility while still providing high-quality, confidential care from the comfort of your own home. Because virtual services are not appropriate for all needs, we will discuss whether this format is suitable during a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation prior to scheduling an initial appointment.

How much do services cost?

The fee for services is $265 per 50-minute session. Payment details and any relevant policies will be reviewed prior to beginning therapy. Psychological services are covered by most extended health insurance plans. Coverage varies by plan; please consult your insurance provider to learn more about your specific benefits

How long are sessions?

Accepted Answer

Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length and are scheduled on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. The frequency and duration of sessions may vary based on your child’s needs and treatment goals. Shorter sessions can be arranged and are prorated accordingly. We will work together to develop a plan that best supports you and your child.

What can I expect during the first session?

The first session is typically an initial intake appointment and is usually held with parents or caregivers only. During this session, we will:

Review informed consent and confidentiality policies
Discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your current concerns
Gather background information about your child’s developmental, medical, family, and social-emotional history
Explore your child’s interests and strengths
Collaboratively identify goals for therapy

We will also discuss the proposed treatment plan, including therapeutic approaches, potential benefits and risks of therapy, and expected outcomes. There will be plenty of time for you to ask questions and gain a clear understanding of the therapy process moving forward.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows the time to be offered to another client and helps maintain consistent care.

Can I contact you in case of an emergency?

I do not provide emergency or crisis services. If you or your child are experiencing a mental health emergency or require immediate support, please contact emergency services (911) or to go the nearest emergency room.  You may also access support through the following crisis resources:
